Residents, Families and Partners:
We have just finished our latest round of mass testing of residents and staff. This resulted in 6 more positive cases, in two of our AL Cottages, but 0 staff tested positive. The next round of mass testing is scheduled for Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
All staff that previously tested positive continue to quarantine in their homes until a return to work date is determine based on CDC and local health department guidelines. Positive residents continue to be isolated from other residents with dedicated staff and cares provided with heightened infection control procedures.
We were able to hold our first vaccine clinic to administer the first does of the vaccine to residents and staff that are not currently positive for the virus. The clinic for our second dose has been scheduled 28 days from the first clinic. Please remember that the benefits from the vaccine will not be experienced until some time after the second dose of the vaccine and vaccination is voluntary. Therefore, infection control measures such as masks, hand hygiene and social distancing should continue for quite some time. We will schedule later vaccine clinics to accommodate future new residents and residents who may be unable to take the vaccine in these initial clinics.
Given the current outbreak of cases in our Community and the surge of cases in the state and the country in general, we have:
- Suspended all group activities; and
- Visitation is limited to outdoor visits, by appointment only.
We continue to monitor all residents for signs and symptoms of the virus or any other change in condition and will contact residents’ responsible parties and primary healthcare providers if any change is noted and to discuss next steps.
We continue to strongly encourage all residents (and ask families to continue encourage residents) to:
- Stay in their apartments as much as possible.Staff can assist with obtaining needed items or doing needed tasks;
- When outside of their apartments, wear masks;
- Practice good hand hygiene; and
- When outside of their apartments, engaged in social distancing.
Thank you for your support of our staff as we work through this surge of positive cases. Please continue to reach out with questions, concerns, or requests for assistance.
