COVID-19 News Update

December 31, 2020

Residents, Families and Partners:

As promised, we wanted to provide you an update on what is going on in our Community related to COVID.

After our most recent round of weekly testing on a random portion of our staff and residents, we had no new positive cases.  We are currently awaiting additional testing kits so we can conduct testing on all staff and residents.  We do have some kits available to do in-house testing of residents that may display signs or symptoms of the virus.  We have been told the kits may come in today, but the holiday tomorrow may delay the receipt.

We continue to encourage all residents (and ask families to encourage residents) to:

  • Stay in their apartments as much as possible. Staff can assist with obtaining needed items or doing needed tasks;
  • When outside of their apartments, wear masks;
  • Practice good hand hygiene; and
  • When outside of their apartments, engaged in social distancing.

We continue to assess residents’ health status, and we will notify residents’ primary physicians and designated family members of any changes in their loved one’s condition, whether potentially related to COVID-19 or not.

We are awaiting more information about when the vaccines will be provided to our staff and residents.  Please remember it will take time before the benefits of the vaccine will be experienced.  These benefits will not occur until some time after the second dose which will take place at least 21 – 28 days after the initial dose.  We will provide you an update as soon as we have this information.

Please reach out with questions, concerns, or requests for assistance.

We hope that 2021 will be a great year for our Community!
